Wondering what the rule of thumb is- I have 6 INQ's in the last six months on both EQ and TU and 4 on EX. Should I go back a full year? What amount is too many? Also, do they fall off after one year? Just curious....
Inquiries lose their scoring impact after a year, and fall off after two.
How many inquiries are too many varies widely with the lender.

"an inq hurts for exactly the same amount for all 12 months, and then not at all."
"Then after 6 or 7 [inquiries] , no dings."
So you can have 6 inquiries in 12 months and not get score dinged?
Thanks
I think it means you will get your score hurt by the first 6 or 7 then not much for each extra inq after 6,7 if its under 12 months. After 12 months they dont cont score wise but are mildly frowned apon by some banks and CC's
