does that make it more or less likely for MORE inquiries to HURT your score?
As of today my husband's presumed middle fico is a 643. we need a 640 for the particular home loan we are trying to get...so i'm wondering I know I've seen 10 points thrown around as a general rule for a hard hit for an inquiry...if anyone might guess whether another (3 or so...) inquiries will tank his score or because there are already "too many" or
that it's LESS likely to sting?
The thing that annoys me if ALL of these inquiries are related to...trying to obtain a mortgage last year at this time (which were 7 of the 12 inquiries in hindsight I'm an idiot and could have done credit monitoring through here we were waiting to see how an incorrect reporting of my husband's student loans would impact his score- lesson learned, 2 were trying to get a credit card for an additional tradeline, and the rest were an auto loan and refiancing of said auto loan)
so when you have too many, do more matter less?

I think if you already have to many inquiries, more do matter. Older inquires don't matter as much as Recent Inquiries. 6 months with no inquiries usually will solve any problems relating to dings from inquiries.
