Inactive Accounts & Utilization

How long does it take for an inactive account to no longer be counted in your % utilization?  I received a notice from scorewatch saying that my utilization exceeded 33%, but according to my calculations I should be a lot closer to 25%.

Sorry, I meant to ask how long it takes for an account to become inactive.  I have a number of accounts on my report that I haven't used in years, but they don't seem to say "inactive."

Every CCC is different. Some want to see frequent activity to keep an account open. Others could care less.

One of my cards goes inactive if not used for 12 months
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
