Increasing spouses score

I have good credit. My wife has poor credit. Will putting her name on my credit cards help raise her score, or lower mine? I still don't know much about mortgages, but we need to buy a house and I need to use her income. First home too. So we can't even come up with 5% for a stated loan. Please help.

Re: Increasing spouses score

Welcome... Adding her as an AU is only a temp fix. You should focus on cleaning up her credit. Can we get more info on what is on her reports?

Re: Increasing spouses score

I am trying to clean up both my CR and my wife's.  Because it was convenient, in the past she has been just an AU on my accounts.  As that is going away in terms of her credit score, and in case I get run over by a truck, I am in the process of making her a co-signer on everything.
