All of the INQ's displayed on myFICO are hard-

You can only get soft INQ directly from the CB's

Correct if I am wrong please.

1 inquire can drop you score 7-10 points the month that it is pulled and has less impact as time pass's over a one years time.

Thank you

Close, but not quite.  Inquiries can drop your score 0 to ??? points (it depends on how high your score currently is and how many inquiries you currently have), and they have the full effect for one year, at which point they stop counting altogether.

Re: Inquires On MYFICO; HARD or SOFT?

1 INQ should be zero points-

INQ's are 0 to 20 points (7 to 10 is more accurate for most of us) and IMO take the FULL points for a FULL year - they display for 2 years.

A good TL's and good payment history make it "Seem" like they fade but IMO - they don't

After a certain # of INQ's you stop getting dinged-

Just to back these statements up, I experienced both of the above firsthand.

I went from 0 to 1 INQ and lost 0 points.

I also went from 7 to 8 INQs and lost 0 points.

The cutoff is not the same for everyone, so YMMV.

In case anyone else was a bit confused by the thread title, and for any new members here, pulling your own myFICO reports results in a soft.

Once I read the post, I understood what OP was after, but I didn't want any newbies to get tangled up. Smiley Wink
