Is there anything more ridiculous?

If you were to peruse my three credit reports, you'd see a man who pays his bills. There's no derogatory information on any of them. ...

Except. ...

Experian: Collection account stemming from miscreant's failure to appear in court to pay a jaywalking fine for an incident near Safeco Field in Seattle. Smiley Surprised

Truly, crime doesn't pay. Smiley Frustrated

Anyone else? Any other utterly ridiculous black marks?

You are a hardened felon.  LOL...  Don't know if I'm allowed to hang out around miscreants.

Yes, that's ridiculous,  are you going to pay it?

Re: Is there anything more ridiculous?

Oh, I paid it a long time ago. But since the payment was to a collection agency, I don't hold out much hope for a goodwill letter.

The impact, at this point, is minimal. MyFICO shows my Experian score as 746, or some such. It just seems comically tragic, is all.

I think Seattle is notorious for jaywalking citations, isn't it?

Re: Is there anything more ridiculous?

Send the GW letters, it works great on CAs.  They have to take time and it costs them money to have to deal with these issues.  Plus, sometimes it's just good business for them.  It all depends on the CA.  YMMV of course.

LOL, that's quite hilarious that they actually refer to you as a miscreant in their notes...

Re: Is there anything more ridiculous?

The lesson to be learned from this is, when you get a jaywalking fine, pay it fast.  Run, don't walk, to the clerk to pay it.  But be careful where you run.

Re: Is there anything more ridiculous?

Whoa, EX actually stated that on their report?  Somehow that does not seem professional.

Re: Is there anything more ridiculous?

To clarify, Experian never called me a miscreant (at least, not to my knowledge). All Experian shows is that there's a collection from the CA hired by the City of Seattle. Sorry that wasn't clear from my original post.

I doubt I'll do anything about this one. Call me paranoid, but I have this uneasy feeliing that, rather than removing the blemish, the CA might say, "Oh, we missed a couple. We should tell TransUnion and Eloqua about this, too." Smiley Surprised
