It took me 4 months to increase my Fico score between 71 to..

I'm excited, all the advice, daily credit pulls, paying down cc bills, and patience has paid off. My fico scores have increased tremendously by following the advice and guidelines we all talk about here in the forums. I have taken hits in the name of increasing the score in the long run, so when they say you are going to lose points you do, as well as when they say you gain points you do.

Here is the short version of the journey:
(Then) Feb '07      (Now)
TU     478                623   + 145
EX     533                604   +   71
EQ     475               589    + 114

The long version with monthly updates is listed at:

I now actually believe the 700 club may be an obtainable goal!
I now have a new goal which is a min of 620 across the board..I will keep you up to date!
Thanks for all the support from my fellow posters!

Wow! Congrats. That is a huge achievement. I find it hard to believe though. Especially the TU score.

If we never set higher goals we would never get as far.

This shows it can be done by legally using the system to help.

Congrats
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Thanks to All for your support!

Girlie:
Like they say everyone's credit file is unique. What I had that was holding me down was 10 cc that were completely maxed out. By reading and utilizing the info that the contributors here had posted I paid down my cc to an overall credit util of approx 27% from >90%. This proved to be drastic.

Also, backing up a little, I had some old collection accounts age to 7 and/or was removed. Dead weight/monkey offback type of stuff.

First and foremost on those 10 cc the oldest is approx 5 years old and all the payments with the exception of one or two times for 1 or 2 accounts were never late! High util, but again never late for me was key.

So for someone with a similar profile paying down maxed cards was key.

Now I am testing another theory which is the effects of inquiries and new accounts on a fico score both the short and long term effects.

Good Luck!!!!

BTW if this isn't your credit profile give us a little more specifics to see what suggestions we can offer you to get you improved scores!
