@Blackmarble, no I was not responding to your post, but the OP's original post that started the thread. Sorry for the confusion.
I think something is wrong with TU. There is a 135 point difference between TU and EX. I have a collections account from 2008 on all three credit reports that is showing up as open on TU but closed on EX and EQ. Also, TU shows the account was opened in November 2012. Before this, the account was not showing on TU at all, and my TU score was 649. Now it is a horrible 501. EX is 636. This is really troubling for me, as my payment history on all my open accounts has been great for the past year. I feel like I'm doing all this work for nothing.
So I assume the collection account is supposed to be reporting closed they way eq and ex report it?
Yes, it is closed. It is showing up on my reports as two separate accounts as well. I filed a dispute as well as a complaint with the BBB. I just got this notice from the BBB today:
This letter is in response to _______’s complaint dated May 28, 2013. LVNV Funding LLC (“LVNV”) currently owns the account number ending in 6289. Resurgent Capital Services L.P. (“Resurgent”) is the servicer of the account owned by LVNV.
After further investigation, the following account has been closed. A request to delete the LVNV tradeline will be submitted to the three major consumer reporting agencies during the next reporting cycle. Please allow 30-45 days for this update to occur. We apologize for any inconvenience experienced regarding this account. Additionally, ________ should receive no further communication from our office regarding this account.
I guess my TU score will look like the rest of them soon. It would feel so much better to be back in the 600s.
I used to have a bad account with LVNV Funding LLC too That's great news, maybe I should try this. My issues is with sallie mae student loans and they are very hard to deal with. They have duplicate accounts for my loans as well its really annoying. Did you write the bureau a letter or dispute online? Also Id love to see how this change affects your score maybe when you see the increase you can tell us how many points you got?
I filed the complaint online. I will be sure to update when I see a change in my scores.
