Regulars here probably know most of what's in this article, but new arrivals may not know some of the key points. She even mentions a wrinkle of credit card utilization that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere other than this board: "make two payments every month — one just before your monthly statement closing date to lower the balance reported to the credit bureaus and a second one just before the due date to avoid late fees."
Of course, as regulars here know well, if one has the cash to pay down CC balances then lowering utilization is one of the fastest ways to get more FICO points.
