Re: Looks like 850 Score is Possible Amazing!

You are dreaming if you think anyone can do it In 5 years. Even 820. The AA of A is 11 years. Average. 22 accounts. On file. So no. You can't do it I. 5. But I would think someone could do it in 10.

Actually two years. You'd need to lose the new account ding.

I bet it could be done in two years starting from scratch if you play your cards right. Sorry for the pun.

No sir. The average 800 score has 22 accounts. And if you opened that many. You would be in the 600s. That 1 credit card and car loan is not gonna get it. Read below. And learn.

2 years?

Try not applying for anything for 2 years and keeping utilization low. This is much better than starting from scratch. If even this can't give you 850, or even 820, starting from scratch will not give it to you either.

Re: Looks like 850 Score is Possible Amazing!

I will break it down si you will know what you need to max our point wise. Payments. 100 percent. Credit age. D gradw under 2 years. A grade over 25 years. B grade. 8 to 25 years. Util. Under 10 percent. Inq 0. A grade. New accounts. 0-2.
Available credit. 50 k. Revolving to max out the score. Fall short. No 850.

The "average" 800 score may have 22 accounts.... but that is no way a cause-and-effect - aiming for a "22 accounts" target certainly will hurt in the short term, and not help all that much in the long term (other than buffering AAoA against future new account openings).

It is quite easy to break 800 on FICO 04/98 scores with 1 open mortgage, 1 open car loan, and 3 cards (+2 AU), or to pin the meter on FICO 8 at 850 with the same mix.  (Yes, that's with absolutely no negative info, an AAoA over 8 years, and it's very utilization-sensitive - but it's more that high scores can lead to 22 accounts, not that 22 accounts lead to high scores.)
