I wanted to see if there would be any changes to my EQ score if I tried something a little different. It seems to be stuck at 696 no matter what I do. Due to circumstances out of my control I had to close a smallish limit BofA CC last month. It closed with a small balance that has since been paid but it did close with a balance. I now have 6 open accounts 4 CC 1 store card and a car loan. 4 accounts reported with a balance. No score change. Used about 1.5% of available credit limits on the cards FICO rounded down to 1%. Last month FICO Simulator gave me a range of 756-796 best course of action now the range is 746-786. 1 account opened in past year 1 inquiry AAofA 2 years oldest opened account 7 y 4 m. Car loan well under 50% of the original balance. BK7 drops April 2010.
