New to myFico. Need advice.

Greetings, I just joined score watch recently and cleared up all my old debts. My score is pretty horrible at 486 but I am very optimistic because I was able to pay off all my debt and I currently have one open account that I have been paying off on time and I am keeping my balance very low. I am looking for suggestions to further improve my score and would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Hello pm devin

Welcome to the boards.  486 can be overcome.  Credit scoring 101 does give some good advice but many factors can figure into your score.  Make sure all info on your reports are accurate. Keep doing what you're doing for utilization and they will come up.  Once you qualify you may want to apply for bettter cards with better interest rates.  Low limits can also affect your score
