Old, closed accounts

Do old accounts that have been closed for over three years affect your score? We have accounts that appear on our report that were past due three years ago. They are closed and nolonger exist (they were sold and have been up to date for some time) but the last activity shows them past due. Does this affect our score?

Old closed negative history accounts will stay on your report for 7 years.  The older they get the less impact thay have as long as you keep current obligations as agreed.  Yes even though their paid off, sold or whatever, the score does still take that history into account for 7 years a it is believed to be reflective of your repayment habits.
