I applied everywhere to get some credit and the last card I ever got was a Household Bank card with a $300 limit. I ran it up to $280 then realized I had a problem.I am now Credit Card Debt Free for 1 year now and plan to stay that way. All I have now of course is my Auto Loan. I only use credit cards for major purchases (for the protection) then pay in full and that is only once in a blue moon.Luckily I didn't know there was an option to pay late or not at all so I have no lates or any baddies on my report. Pure Luck I am sure!

Congrats on clearing up your credit cards! It took me about 15 years to clear up my credit and I still have a bankruptcy that has about 2 years left before it comes off my record. I've raised my score from the low 500's to 721. I pay all my CC bills in full every month. People like us show that you can repair your credit. It might take some time, but with a little hard work it can be done Again, congrats on your efforts and hard work! Greg

Congratulations to recent posters IIII and gbw who, with a little more knowledge, experience, and time, rose from the lower scores. It's a competitive game with yourself and the 'big 3' that oftentimes seem to make arbitrary or puzzling decisions on scoring.
Contrary to what gbw mentioned, EX has usually had higher scores for me; it's TransUnion that 'begs to differ' for sometimes unknown reasons.
Happy better scores in 2014 to everyone.
For the longest time TU was my highest, now it's my lowest. Doesn't matter, no one uses TU anyway! Now EX is my higest and is knock, knock, knockin' on 800's door.
My highest credit score by far is from EXPERIAN, which still records a credit card opened in 1979 and, although now closed, will still be reporting for about another 4 years. (I wish more of my cc's from that vintage were still around!!)
When I received my Amex BCE card this Spring, they cited an Experian FICO score of 803, although this was on a scale of "350 - 850" instead of "300 - 850." This score has dropped somewhat, thanks to multiple cc applications this year. My last Experian FICO score, obtained less than a month ago on myFICO, was 778. I'm gardening now, and hope I can hit that 800 threshold once again. Such a great feeling to do so . . . !
My TransUnion myFICO score has been 750 for over three months now. Hopefully some gardening will allow it to hit, for the first time, that 760 mark sometime next year.
And then there's my Equifax myFICO score of 724 . . .
My scores all moved up a couple points (sig), the new one being the discover TU score of 845
I guess I get to join the club...TU: 761 & EX: 768
"Because your FICO® score is exceptionally high, there are no actionable negative factors present with your score".
I love your sig line! I seen the "negative factors" on my report as simply the CRA grasping at straws. They have to come up with some sort of excuse when scores are already decent but in your case, your scores are exemplary.
