Right now I'm using a card with no interest for five years on a $10K purchase, and that suits me just fine, although I'll pay it off in three.
If I may ask, how did you manage that? I would love to be able to get a card with no interest for three years.
SGOTW: Sure, I don't mind. It probably occurred when all my scores hit more than 800, as well as positive fico comments. I was looking for a good deal on a Long Arm Quilting machine and saw that GE Capital offered the no interest rate for five years for that purchase for qualified buyers. So, I jumped on the bargain. These machines run from $8K to $25K, so it was an excellent deal for me.
With exceptional scores, sometimes good things happen at the right time.
As of yesterday my scores are 839 (Equifax) 832 (Transunion) and 833 (Experian). Which is really great, since next month I'm moving to Portland, OR and I'm in the process of getting an apartment rental.
My Equifax went to 787 today. THE one on my discover shows 811..
I'm happy about that..

Finally got above the elusive 800 for the first time in my life (36 now). Can't say how happy I am to get there. It has been a long hard road. To all of those people that are reading..it can be done!!!
