Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

What's the significance of having scores in the 800 range versus high 700s? My EQ FICO score is 850; TU 848; EXP 837. Wouldn't creditors give the same weight to the numbers as soon as you score within a certain range?

When you walk through the revolving door in a hotel and then stop to check your smartphone, what happens? Same thing when you enter Costco and take a breather to put away the membership card you have shown or you go up or down on the escalator at Macy’s and try to figure out if you’re on the right floor. You get run over by the crowd behind you. Same thing with 760. You need some space for the manual review which puts everything under a microscope. Even in the case of automatic scores, many lenders have their own systems which may not view you as favorably as FICO may.

Nice scores by the way!

Fico has my scores at TU=850, EXP=845, and Equ=843. I'll take those scores anytime! Congrats to everyone who has reached their credit goal scores!

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

Abby:

FICO scores of 760 and above are very good in the credit-seeking world.  The highest to date in FICO is 850.  The only 'significance' is that some of us are competing with ourselves to reach 850.  It's like running a race; some of us are more competitive than others to reach the finish line, or the highest peak.

That said, people should be aware of their own credit-worthiness when thinking of making major purchases.  FICO scoring keeps us apprised of our spending habits so we can make adjustments beneficial to obtaining the best deals in our purchases.

I think I'm in this group but I'm too cheap to pay for scores, so I have to go by freebies. My Discover score should be correct, though, right?

Starting Score: 528
Current Score:840 DISC, 788 EFX, 849 TRU, 850 XPN
Goal Score: 850+ for all three

You can get the Equifax FICO at Citi.
