Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

No problem LilyBee. I am not very old but not very young either putting it that way Smiley Wink I just really started putting emphasis on my credit the last couple of years after paying cash for eveything for many many years. The 19 cards where a (learning curve) for me in which half of them will be closed due to higher aprs and the need to not have many store cards(5) currently. The boa cash rewards card had a great BT promo running in May so I trasnfered several of my balances to the one card 0% promo until Oct 2018 so I jumped on it! Thought it would make more since to have just 1 card reporting a balance although more than 30 percent than several reporting balances. In my experience others my have different experinces, but EXP seems to ding me more for having several cards reporting balances than just the (1) hence my EXP went up from 677 in Nov last year (8) cards reporting balances to 719 currentkly with only (1) card reporting a balance. While TU &EQ are merly affected at all.

I finally made it on my benchmark score, EQ FICO 5:

8/5/17 = 771

Over 5 and a half years on this forum and I finally can post here haha.

I'm certain this graph won't come out well but here's the tale of said score:

Good shows: Leonard, Sub, and Rev:

Tenacity in striving for a higher score really works.

Glad you made such a big jump, Rev.  You've come a long way; congrats and keep up the good work.

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

Well, there are a couple of issues with trying to achieve anything with scoring. My current FICO Equifax is 778. Experian, 787. As I posted elsewhere, when I paid off a car loan - 5 months in advance - my score dropped 30+ points in one month. So much for getting out of debt.

The last update was in June and shows my use percentage of available credit as 12% when the actual 8/01/17 amount by all three agencies is 6% - but it really is 4% but one of the agencies shows 7/10 as the last update, while one card has not reported in three months. and although FICO will show a guarantor for a corporate card for, say, Capitol (closed 5 years ago), it offers alerts for my Platinum AmEx Business card (I am the business, though a corporation and not a sole prop) which has a "No credit limit"  tag (recently offered a base-line low interest loan amount of $35,000.00, with more available if needed). (I owe about $500.00 this month because the annual fee just became due.) So, FICO will track my ACTIVITY but not give me credit for my AVAILABLE CREDIT.

My application for credit (only 10%, but still...) went from Excellent to Fair - I bought my woman a car and the Lexus dealer checked with Toyota, Cap, Ally, their own use and now the record shows 4 requests. Which will hang arount for two years. Told all along that multiple credit checks for the same item - in this case, within minutes - would be aggregated and taken as a single search for credit, i.e. interest rates.

I guess the next few months, when I've paid down a few grand on the car, and November's report will reflect July closings of other account balances I'll be back above 800. But looking to the future... d'a'm'n well won't pay off HER car until ready to replace MY car.

We'll see.

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

Sorry about the credit scores check, Lloyd.  They do not aggregate.  I learned that a while ago when I shopped around for the best mortgage.

What are your wife's/woman's credit scores?  Next time, if she needs a new car, let her buy it. Smiley Wink  No reason to ruin your scores.

I won't be checking my scores again until October or November.  Unfortunately, I had a flat tire doing the speed limit of 70 on I-95, in July.  The total damage and resulting fixes it did to my car were close to $3000.  Actually, if it was a front tire, I'd be dead and I wouldn't have to worry about it.  But, until those charges clear up this month, I'll have to give myself an extra month before I even think of checking my scores.

The plus is, at least you have good scores for now.  Hard to get to even 760+ for some folks.

Cheers.
