Question - is there truly a difference in score between 760-850. I know it's almost 100 points but when applying for different things is there a difference?

None in the current market; I think the mortgage tiers end at 750 for the vast majority of lenders and 760 is almost an outlier at the top end now.
If I ever manage to pull a 760 on Beacon 5.0 I'll consider it done, as there won't be much I can do to improve it except for time passing (and not missing a payment of course). Might hit 850 10 years or whatever from that date on a FICO 8 pull but it's simply not a concern as I doubt I'll ever sit on my hands for more than 1.5ish years at a stretch as there's always something I should likely be doing with my credit report.

This past month my FICO scores hit an all time high since rebuild. Once I had 800+ but after a dip to 533 or lower I started to crawl back up in 2008. My 3 hit 756-770 according to agency you pull. All my cards increased my CL on their cards and US air even went to 9500. My capital one increased to 4500 my paypal card to 5000 and jc penny to 3000. Total now I have 23,700 in credit line on 5 cards. Keep in mind 5 years ago I could not borrow 50 bucks from the back now I can go in and get unsecured 5000 loans. I feel incredible. 3500 of the CL increases will not hit until this month so I hope a 5 point bump is in order. Maybe all 3 agencies to 770. I'm so grateful and this forum helped a lot and reading everything online. I am shooting for 800 and hope to apply and obtain a mortgage this month. I think after 6 months that will give me 800+. It's been a long road but trust me no matter how dark things seem you can recover. Mine was so bad at one time I would not even let lenders pull it nor would I pull it. I just felt embarrassed. It's a brighter time in my life and anyone can get here but you have to want it more than anything and work daily to make it happen.
