Question about FICO scoring.

Recently I received an automatic credit line increase. Does this affect my FICO scoring in a positive way?

Re: Question about FICO scoring.

A credit line increase won't affect your score directly - However, it may change your utilization which is a part of you score (it just depends on if you use the new amount or not)

$50 of $500 is 10% but $50 of $1500 is only a little more than 3% UTIL.

Re: Question about FICO scoring.

Exactly what the previous poster said. I get these email alerts from experian whenever a credit limit increase is reported on my reports. It effects your utilization and also higher limits show responsible use, in my opinion.

We noticed that your credit limit increased by $100 or more on at least one of your accounts. This change could have a positive impact on your FICO®Scores! Well done - you've been responsible with how you use your credit.
