Removal dates

OK I have a colllection on my experian report from back in 2002. My copy of my report states that it will be removed 5/09 . I just pulled my report and it is still on.....when can I expect this to fall off? Or should I dispute it?

Re: Removal dates

Experian? I have heard as late as the 7th of the following month but my SO had a collection removed around the 28th of the drop off month listed on the reports. At any rate don't look for it to drop off until close to the end of the month.

Re: Removal dates

Where are you finding the fall off dates on your report? I'm still learning how to read them and can't seem to find fall off dates for anything.

Re: Removal dates

Do you have account records on the original DOFD?  That is what controls.

The date of the collection is meaningless

For a collection account, FCRA 605(c) mandates its removal from your CR at 7 1/2 years from the date of first delinquency on the OC account that led to the collection reporting.
