Auto loans typically use the higher of the two applicants historically.

As Revelate said, Auto loans will usually use the highest score but it depends....
I sold cars for a brief period in my past life. A lot of times a husband and wife would apply for a loan together. You wouldn't believe how many times the wife would have a better score than the husband! They couldn't use her scores though because she didn't have the income to justify the loan because she worked part time. The lenders will use the highest score that ALSO has the income to justify the loan.
