Understanding FICO® Scoring

my equifax score was 588. i had 23 collections from 2001 to 2005 and 2 recent  loan late paymnets(I never made paymnet) .

last week i was able to remove 15 collections,and i also removed the two late paymnets.I was expecting myfico score to jump up at least 20-50 points. it went up only 2 points,i got fico alert that my score is now 590.

could this score be correct?

you still have CA's on your CR.

OF the remaining CA's how recent were they updated?

Do you have any other late payments in the last 2 years?

did you pull a new report to see if all of the recent deletions have taken place. The CRA's may not have received the updates yet with these new deletions on your record. Give it 30-60 days for everything to hit. You will see your score go up.

Yes i do have collections left. the most recent unpaid collection is from 2005.

I also have a $250 credit card, i very much uitilized about %94.

Yes i did get a new report last night, i used to see about 7 to 8 pages of collections for all 23 accounts, now they are only 8 collections left.

Should i pay all these collections? i heared paying collections will badly hurt my score, is this true? if yes or no, which collection should i pay and which i shouldn't pay?

all these 8 collections are return checks.

I looked at your post-

One is recently reporting - go after this one for the PFD first.

Get the UTL down.

My EQ did not go over 600 until my UTL was under 50% and all but one CA was off.

Only went up 20 points when the last CA was off.
