TU04 and TU 98 clarity, Maybe

Maybe this will shed some light on things for people. I have my Tri pull from my lender and a Myfico TU report. I will say they were pulled about 3 months apart.

Feb 5 - TU04 - 559

Factors impacting in order as they appear

Serious delinquency

Proportion of balance to credit limits too high on bank revolving and other revolving accounts

Length of time  since derog  public record or collection too short

Number of accounts with delinquency

May 28 TU98 - 608

I know the time between pulls is a factor as well.

I hope this helps.

Re: TU04 and TU 98 clarity, Maybe

Sorry it does NOTHING for me.  My lender pull and myFICO numbers are days difference.  My lender pull TU04 actually just bumped to 658 BUT I have gotten no notice form myFICO of the score changes.

myFICOisNOTWACKO but MYFICOisWACKO get it?!?

Re: TU04 and TU 98 clarity, Maybe

I believe that the importance placed on util % has been echoed on the forums before. Always nice to have some "confirmation" of such.

MYFICO - it's not reasonable to compare two different algorithms of FICO scoring to one another. When different factors are given different weights, it becomes difficult to predict the overall effect on a persons score. Daily to people on these forums, something causes their EQ to increase, but TU to decrease. Until the imaginary day comes that the proprietary calculations are revealed, we will all have to follow the simple rule that a good diversification of credit, low utilization, and on-time payment of all debts will result in an increase in score in the long-run. The short term is too unpredictable do to scoring buckets and unknown algorithms.

Starting Score: 627 EQ, 621 TU - 11/15/08
Current Score: 778 EQ, 781 TU, 778 EXP 07/20/12 Lender Pull
Goal Score: 800 EQ & TU

Hi elsdog,

What was your actual utilization for each of the two different pulls?

Re: TU04 and TU 98 clarity, Maybe

TU04 February pull

CC was 283 with a 518 credit limit

Care credit was 3807 on a 5500 credit limit

TU 98 May pull

CC was 194with a 518 credit limit

Care credit was 3545 on a 5500 credit limit

Let me know what you think please trying to understand this as well.

Everything else stayed the same, number of collections, number of accounts with derogs, even the recent collections, because St. Davids pulled one from NCO, but gave it to another CA that is why the number of CAs stayed the same.

Re: TU04 and TU 98 clarity, Maybe

So, first thing I would do is check the math.

Utilization on each card and

Overall utilization

for each pull.

For example, $283 balance on a $518 CL is 55%

and so on.....

ETA:  hopefully someone will comment on the change in CA's - is there any difference in any of the dates reporting on the new CA vs the old CA?
