I signed up for Time Warner Roadrunner on Tuesday. I got a alert to tell that my score went down 35 points!!!! Is that even possible. Ive signed up for a new cell phone service recently and they only took 2 points. 35 points???? Is it possible to dispute a credit inquire score??
I apologize if this has already been discussed, but to say the least, I'm a pretty ticked right now.
As far as I know they have permissible purpose to pull your credit, and it is illegal to dispute a legal inq.
Has anything else changed on your report? And was it a FICO score?
Ditto to MV. Don't dispute any inquiries. They both are very much legit.
Did any CC balances change? Any new accounts added/removed?
Remember that SW alerts do not tell you the full picture. I once got an alert that my score went up 20 points because of an inquiry. No, the inquiry didn't bump my score, but it was other things going on that helped and were not mentioned in the alert.
And there is a difference between "fair" and "legal"

There is a difference between fair and life. Adults know which battles are worth fighting and which are not.
