Totally confused..

This is totally confusing...I am looking to buy a new house soon so i decided to start paying down my balances to zero at the end of last year to raise my credit score..I decided not to use them at all until they report zero balance....I have 3 CC's reporting to all three bureaus...a Amex...Discover...and a Sheffield card...Zero'd out my Amex in November and on Dec 1st...i raised my cli from 6k to 18k...Zero'd my Discover card and raised the cli on it from 11.5k to 13k...my Sheffield revolver still showed a balance of 178.it has a cl of about 9k...On Dec' 2nd...my zero balance for my Amex reported which brought up my Experian from 774 to 778...My Equifax from 761 to 773...My Transunion went from a 748 to 758.....Got an alert on Jan 4th about my credit acct change...My Amex cli reported bring up my Experian 4pts to 778 and my equifax to 774...My transunion score remained the same...Got another alert 4 days later...My Discover balance reported zero and my new cli reported...My equifax went up 4 points to 778...My Experian went down to 774 and my Transunion still remains the same...Now i don't know what to do...smh

Re: Totally confused..

Credit limits impact the FICO score to the degree that it helps your credit utilization other than that it has no impact on the score. I would continue to use the cards just pay them off before the statement period ends. FICO does have a score reason for no recent revolving account information. The link below shows the score reason plus an explanation of each

+1 and +1

OP, if you were hoping to cross 800, it seems your credit history is probably not enough years to allow that. Congrats on the excellent score! You should be fine for your mortgage, and keep letting small balances report on your cards.
