Transunion dropped 27 points today from a 827 to an 801

So I charged 1759.00 dollars on my Wells Fargo card this month after not reporting a balance higher than a couple of hundred dollars per month. My limit is $7500.00 on the card. When I pay it off next week will I gain my points back? The wild swings in credit scores seem like a scam to me..

This is TU. The report of $1,759 is 'All Bankcards' meaning your Wells Fargo is only one component in all that, it is everything on open revolving credit cards, all together.

So, the $1,759 could be your Wells Fargo only if all other personal cards had zero.

What was your TU "All Bankcards" amount the last time TU reported this to you? And when was that?

You will most likely get the points back, perhaps not immediately, but as the balance goes back to the lower amount, over a couple of months. Presuming all other personal cards remain at zero, it would be the end of January when WF next updates with an amount.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
Jan 2018 $19k on $344k 5% util EQ 799 TU 791 EX 805

Delta Reserve and CSP Jan 2018, no more 5/24 worries... unless new Chase Marriott/SPG replacement is enticing...

You should get MOST of them back after the payoff, but quite often you don't get all of them back immediately. A few months and all will be well as long as you stay on track. With those 800-club scores it looks like you're used to staying on track. Smiley Happy
