I am divorcing, should be final in a few months. I just got all of my FICO information, and my soon to be ex's mortgage is showing on my EQ and EX reports! When we separated, he refinanced in his name only. Only his name is on the loan, and only his name is on the deed. Although he always pays on time, I can only assume that having two mortgages on my report is hurting my credit. Scores:
TU - 712 - his mortgage balance shows as zero. (incorrect - he has not refinanced again)
EQ - 670 - his mortgage balance shows as zero.
EX - 650 - his mortgage balance is shown.
Even though I am not on the mortgage or deed, and have a quit claim stating I have no interest or obligation in the house, is the simple fact that we are still married why it's showing up on my reports? Could his salary be included on my reports too? I can't imagine getting those scores with two mortgages on my salary alone!
Should I send the quit claim paperwork to TU/EQ/EX? Or deal with the bank to have them stop reporting it?
I have some other dings for late payments - 30 days, which I hope to remove with a GW letter.
