What steps do I take to remove myself as an Authorized User?

Hey everyone.

Can someone please advise me how to go about removing myself as an authorized user? The balance on the cards are nearing the Credit Limit and I want my credit report to be a true reflection of my own credit, not someone elses.  Thanks.

Under each credit bureau you have to dispute them. It should have the option to select like they aren't mine or not responsible. Then after 30 days they will have to delete it!

Starting Score: TU 640, EQ 636, EX 645
Current Score: TU 665, EQ 706, EX ?

Yep, and it shouldn't take 30 days.  Should be relatively quick.

So I don't need to contact the actual creditor and ask them to remove me? Just contact the Credit Reporting Agency?

Yes! I just did that where I was AU on my husbands account!!! But you have to do all 3. Eq and tu here. Then go to experian.com order your report and dispute there!

Re: What steps do I take to remove myself as an Authorized User?

You might want to contact the CC's and have them remove your name just in case the card is used again in your name then they could start reporting again. But I've had to have my husband call too to remove me cause they wouldn't let me. Go figure Smiley Happy

The cardholder has to remove you.  You cannot do it.  But you can dispute it through CRA.

Veteran members here recommend being removed by CC company, I had success going through CRA via dispute. Good luck!

it's pretty easy.  personally i'd rather just ask the CC company once & not have to ask each individual credit bureau Smiley Happy
