What the?!?!?

My score was rising pretty nicely recently...then I wanted to pay off my collections, which I did and I had to use my CC for a work issue, which I was going to pay off as soon as I got paid, which I'm still waiting for, so my balance went up obviously...so in short my score dropped 25 points in 1 week and its very depressing, especially since I was trying to do the right thing by paying off old debts and collections. Will my scores improve more quickly now that they are not in collections and are just new or will it take a long time just to get back were I was a week ago??

Re: What the?!?!?

Damage done by collections takes years to go away. Damage done by high utilization can generally be cured quickly by lowering utilization. It might take a few weeks to show up, but FICO usually responds fairly quickly to changes in utilization, good or ill.
