Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

Thanks - all my scores (see siggy) are from the lender except the last couple.  I'm praying to all that is holy that my TU score is over 640.  I'm wishing I would hear from the realtor that the investor signed off on our offer, then I get to have my scores pulled again.  We heard back that the house's appraisal came back "100% fine" on Thur, but the realtor said that it takes 48 hours to get the final approval letter.  I've got ants in my pants!  It's been 48 hours for crying out loud.

Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

I lost points on CK because an account dropped off.  I have another account to drop off next month, and another in August!  Nothing changed here on EQ.  Not sure which bureau reports to CK?  Gosh things are just getting worse and I seem to be going in the wrong direction.

Just remember that both the TransRisk and VantageScores from CK are worthless. And if you compare them to themselves you're then comparing worthless scores to useless scores.

CK gets information from your TU data.

Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

I know the score is bad, but I found an experien report today that listed the dates of drop - offs, so it explains why CK dropped (it said an account dropped).

How much can old closed accounts dropping off impact a score anyway?  Especially 3 in 3 months.

Thanks MV

Is that EX report a full report such as what you get from annualcreditreport.com? I would not be too concerned with anything I read at CK as being reliable.

How much can an old account dropping off affect your score? As always YMMV but it impacts your AAoA and credit length history and If the accounts that disappeared were a lot older than the rest of your accounts then it could have a very large impact. AAoA and length of credit history are parts of your overall score that usually can't be rebuilt very fast.

Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

Yep - it's from annual.    Experien is my best score by a long shot (no judgment on it).  I don't think EQ dropped off a tradeline for July, but I def. see one that should go away soon, in August.  My oldest account is 12 years and my AAoA is 5,6,7 depending on which report.  I have a bunch of closed student loans that I get to keep for a while yet, What are dropping off are goodstanding car loans that are long since paid.

For other accounts/reports, would I know it was dropping from the DOLA (10 years after that?)

I don't think anything that's dropping is "a lot" older than my other accounts.

It is generally 10 years from the date of closing although some will drop off a bit early and the lucky few have accounts report well past that 10 year mark. DoLA does not have anything to do with it.

Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

MV:  How many points do you think I will get when my new utilization reports down from 31% to 1%?  3 cards reporting 0, one w/ a 1000 limit I'm leaving 25.

I know you probably hate this question as there are too many variables.  You have excellent scores and lots of experience.  So give it your best shot, if you don't mind.

THANKS

I am reminded just about every day how much I don't know about all this but all any of us can do is try our best.

From 31% to 1%? You're not going to hold me to my answer are you??  Smiley Happy

If nothing else pops up (meaning no new negatives) perhaps 10-15 points. (I try and be conservative so that if it happens to be more we'll both be happier.  Smiley Happy  )  BUT..........there are many others here that have done this much longer and are therefore much better at guessing, estimating, etc. what might happen.

Just let all of us know what does happen when everything updates ok?

Re: What will get me from 624 to 640?

OK.  i can live with it.  However, if it's 15 and I'm stuck at 639 I'll likely shoot myself.  Since I lost one point from my own doing.  I disputed a collection so it would report as paid.  DUM DUM!  I know but I didn't know then.
