Which is more likely to not result in a drop in my score

I have a closed/transferred mortgage account that was transferred back in March of 2008. This account is being reported as "current status" 90 days late, date of status Mar 2008,   payment history

30 days late 60 days late 90+ days late

2 times (Jan 2008, Dec 2007)
1 time (Feb 2008)

account description : transferred to another lender.

I have a letter from the lender stating that the account is being reported as closed/transfered 60 days late.

Now is it better  score wise to dispute this 2 yr old account to have them report it as 60 days late rather than 90 days late and to have the current status changed to closed /transfered  or will that dispute just result in the account being updated to a recent 60 day late rather than a 2yr old 90 day late?  Also which one is better for my score?
