credit limit increase and scores

I recently got a credit limit increase I had some baddies over a year ago but my mid score is 646 I have a reported utilization under 5 % my total limits with all cards were under 2000 now its 2300. My only other thing not paid off is 11k in student loans. If I keep my utilization at 5% how much of boost can I get. Or should I use 9% not sure which is better.

Re: credit limit increase and scores

Does your 646 include the reported 5%? Or was util higher w/ the 646 score?

For max points, get all CCs to report $0 except for one and get one to report a balance of under 9% of the CL. Certainly everyone's credit is different. That sweet spot may be 4% for you, 1%, 8%, whatever. Trial and error.

Re: credit limit increase and scores

If the increse was done with out a hard pull I doubt you will see much change if any in the score.
