Almost 100% sure that a store or gas card would help the mix for points. Probably not much definitely not as much as a mortgage. 850 is almost impossible to keep as I have heard you lose a few points for stale credit reports after a while. A fully paid for house at 820 FICO beats the daylights out of 845 with DEBT.

There is simply no such thing as an accurate or inaccurate credit score.  Anyone who has licensed with a CRA to access your credit data can produce a credit score by any means or algorithm they produce, and sell it to consumers.  Credit scoring is totally unregulated under the FCRA.  You get what you pay for.

The value of any credit score is ONLY in the eyes of the creditor who uses that score in their lending decisiions.

A vast majority of creditors rely only FICO scores, which are only scores produced under license with Fair Isaac for generation of the scores that are produced using the scoring algorithms marketed by Fair Isaac.  Unless these scores include the FICO (R) certifification, they are not scores that most lendors will even give passing notice to.

FICO does not rank A's, B's, or C's.  That is non-FICO jibberish.

If you want a score that matters, make sure it is a FICO score.
