one step forward and two steps back... :-(

so I paid off my cap1 card and have been waiting for my credit score to update thinking I should get a pretty good jump because this was a huge chunk of my UTIL

my score DROPPED!

when the inq's hit for a new nationwide card my score WENT UP from 657 to 665... but when the nationwide card showed up on my account my score dropped right back down...

so inquirys are good as long as you don't actually get the card!

This new card likely lowered your average of accounts. Do you know what your average was both before and after the new card?

And..yes...growing healthy credit is often just as you said...one step forward, two back. But adding a new healthy tradeline will give you benefits before too long.
