paid collection and my score decreased, how can I tell if this re-aged?

Ok on the surface I think the drop of 12 points for this seems a bit odd, but perhaps there is a logical explanation. Anyone want to give making logic out of this a shot?

Paying a collection will usually drop your score. It hasn't been re-aged, but the DOLA and/or the "reported date" changed to a recent date and FICO often reads it as a recent collection. This is normal and happened when the amount due was changed. As you experienced, paying a CA won't help your score any without a PFD. I would GW them now and ask them to remove it off your CRs.
