score difference between TransUnion & Equifax reports?

I’m just curios on the trends here, I bought both reports today and noticed that my Equifax score was about 50 points higher than my TransUnion score.  Is that about normal?  Does TransUnion traditionally rank lower scores in comparison to Equifax?

I can only speak for myself. TU has always been lower than my EQ but I know for a fact that the information showing in each is quite different. The last time I checked TU was 28 points less than EQ.

My TU is always higher than my EQ.

OP, put both reports together and compare them side-by-side. Differences in the number of accounts, the type of accounts, baddies on one and not the other, inquiry count, length of history, balances, AAoA, and many, many others can have a profound impact on your scores and can easily account for any differences. Even small things like open dates, statuses (open vs. closed), TL comments, and others can swing your score by quite a bit. It's rare to have two CRs exactly alike, but if it is, know that there are a number of unseen factors that can create differences like scoring buckets, will cause stark differences. Finally, know that the TU and EQ score formulas aren't exactly alike and that can cause a small score difference.

Re: score difference between TransUnion & Equifax reports?

I looked at my EQ and TU today and my Eq is 60 points lower then Transunion but both are the same reports. The only difference i see is on my EQ report my Credit Cards don't show my Payment history while my TU does. Only had them 4 months. Also when i click on UNDERSTANDING YOUR SCORE it shows MANY ACCOUNTS PAID ON TIME while EQ doesn't show that but like i said, Everything reports the same on Both reports accept one doesnt show my payment history. Could this b it and can i fix this?

The score difference wouldn't be due to that TL. There's something else happening on your CRs that is causing that.

FICO scoring reasons (the pos. and neg. items on pages 2 or 3 of your report) vary by CRA. The FICO formula isn't the same across all 3.

Look closer. Something else is there like maybe a late, account(s) not reporting, etc.
