Re: what is the purpose of a PLUS score?

The Disclosures/Disclaiminers may be there BUT they are included in the fine print and/or not plainly available until AFTER you have made your purchase and get the screen with your report and fako score.  Consumers do need to read more carefully before just buying into something, but that the same time consumers make good faith purchases thinking they are receiving something of value when in fact they are not.  Good faith and fair dealing is a two way street.

When making these purchases why can't the CRA (EX, EQ, or TU) make a check box that clearly states these scores aren't used by lenders?  They make you check a box agreeing to terms and conditionsor agreeing to let them charge your credit card before processing your purchase.  Why not put that little disclaimer right there?  Because then they lose money.  They know that and that's why they "hide the ball" so to speak.

what is the purpose of a PLUS score or VANTAGE score?

To answer your question simply, because they (Plus, Vantage, TransRisk etc.....) are CASH COWS!

A cash cow requires little investment capital and perennially provides positive cash flows

This term is a metaphor for a dairy cow that produces milk over the course of its life and requires little maintenance. A dairy cow is an example of a cash cow, as after the initial capital outlay has been paid off, the animal continues to produce milk for many years to come.

(I think you get my point)
