writing a goodwill letter

i have missed a payment 3 years ago . it was reported 30 days late.  i paid in full .if i were to write a goodwill letter and somehow they are generous enough to remove it would it lift my score up? that would be the only negative issue other than a discharged bk7 from 2009?

Re: writing a goodwill letter

Using a Google search like this:

site:myfico.com effect 30 day lates two years

you can find various threads that indicate that most of the damage of 30 day lates occurs in the first two years.

I'd probably let sleeping dogs lie.

Like most others on this forum say:  Every report is different...  Mines is far from perfect, but I got a single 30 day late from 6 years ago off my report and seen a 7-10 point jump.  So i'd say every little thing counts.
