That makes sense. I just giggle a little when my rank changes. I don't come on here for the rank though, so they can rank me how ever they want. ![]()

LOL I totally don't understand the ranking system.
Today I'm considered a New Contributer (nevermind that I've been contributing for over a year now)
3/26/12 Valued member
2/21/12 Established member
1/26/12 Member (not new anymore, just a member now
)
12/19/11 New Member
Hi my25reasons,
The rank names might not exactly relate to every users. The ranks are based on more than just posts. There is a formula that includes reading, posting, visiting, etc.

So it's like a FICO score for forum posts?

Sorry if I missed this but I've been a member here since 2007 and my status has been changed to new contributor . I'm confused because I see others who have posted less then me and registered much later, yet they have a higher ranking.
Who decides what your ranking is? What's the criteria?
I don't post often but I'm a long term lurker.
Thanks for your response as I am sadden
by this change in my status.

From the very first post of this thread Barry wrote: We'll soon be adding 12 new ranks and a more robust set of ranking criteria that (before you ask) will not be disclosed publicly.

Chances are that your rank before was "Valued Member" and "New Contributer" is actually a step up in the ranks. So, congrats!
Refer to this post though if you have more questions.

Hi steffiejoe,
The ranks are based on more than just posts. There is a formula that includes reading, posting, visiting, etc. Here is the ranking hierarchy with New Visitor being the beginning rank for everyone. I looked at your numbers and you're not going to find anyone with a lower post count at a higher rank. If you do, please let me know and so I can investigate. Thank you.
