FICO FORUMS CREDIT REPAIR DISCUSSION GUIDELINES

Dear FICO Forums Community,

Welcome to the FICO Forums!

What we offer here is a lot of great advice by folks who have been there and done that when it comes to experiencing the ups and downs of real life in the world of credit -- and want to share what they’ve learned about what helps and hurts your FICO score.

Please note that Fair Isaac and myFICO are not credit repair organizations or similarly regulated organizations governed by the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act or similar state laws.

Fair Isaac and myFICO do not provide so-called "credit repair" services or advice or give assistance regarding "cleaning up" or "improving" your credit record, credit history, or credit rating.

The only credit repair discussions allowed in FICO Forums are ones that exchange information on how to correct or remove real errors from your credit report – not accurate information that you want to get rid of because it may be negatively affecting your credit score.

Additionally, we cannot allow postings that include the promotion of any credit repair organization or the posting of links to web sites that promote any credit repair actions that are not allowed in these Forums.

When posting, please follow our User Guidelines:

Credit Repair

FICO Forums is intended to provide helpful and useful tips for managing credit and understanding FICO scoring.  This is not the place to exchange “credit repair” advice that encourages consumers to provide untrue or misleading information to a credit bureau or lender for the purpose of raising FICO scores or otherwise improving credit ratings, credit histories or credit records. Such material may be edited or removed, and egregious or repeat offenders will be banned from future participation in FICO Forums.

And please observe our Terms of Service:

Posting to FICO Forums

Users of FICO Forums agree not to upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content (including but not limited to text, links, communications, software, images, sounds, data, or other information) that includes any of the following inappropriate content:

  • Promotion of a credit repair organization, as defined in the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act or similar state laws, or the services of such an organization;

If you have any questions about what's allowed here and what's not, please feel free to send a private message to a moderator or admin -- or simply post your question to the community in the Rebuilding Your Credit board.

Thanks for following these guidelines!
