Re: Bk friendly creditors

I applied for the Apple Finance Barclays card online but I received the standard, you are not able to be approved at this time. So I was just expecting to receive my denial letter in the mail with 10 business days. But I received an email last night and I was approved with a limit $1200!!! This is my highest CL post BK. We did include Barclays(Black Card) in our BK.

Congrats!  How many other TL's do you have?  And how long has it been since your discharge?

Re: Bk friendly creditors

We were discharged in April 2012. My tradelines are Capital One Platinum $750, Credit One $500, Wells Fargo Auto (August 2012), Apple $1200. I also have a BMW Auto Loan from Pre-BK that I reaffirmed because I only have a couple more payments. My wife has Capital One Rewards $2000, Capital One Platinum $1250, First Premier $500, CRedit One $500 and we both have our mortgage that we reaffirmed. My wife has nothing to do with the credit she has because she could care less, I just wanted to make sure we rebuilt our credit.

Re: Bk friendly creditors

Im trying to find some soft pull credit lines to try for, but being new to the forums I  have no idea what some of the abbriviations are. Ive applied for Target, BoA Student Card and accepted a pre-qualify Capital One card for $500CL. Target and BoA gave me the "7-10 Day" response so Im assuming I was denied... I dont want to put anymore inquiries I already have 4.

Re: Bk friendly creditors

Hwndori, a few suggestions for you.  Try the shopping cart trick for express, victoria secrets, J Crew, Roamans or Buckle. All are soft pulls and you can get a positive tradeline reporting for you typically around 250. I'm not sure if you are post BK or not, but BOA is uber prime and I would stay away from primes for now. I would avoid apping unless you have a decent likelihood of getting approved. One way to do this is to know your fico scores for TU and EQ.  Use whogavemecredit.com to research a lender you a considering and who they are most likely to pull. Also google "credit pulls database".

That being said, capital one and credit one are BK friendly and both have prequals with initial soft pulls but will will require a full hard pull if you are approved. CreditOne is horrible but a necessary evil and means to an end. Since you already have Capone, your have a few options left. In anycase, avoid apps unless you have a pretty solid idea what your chances are.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunatly I didnt even prequal for the credit one and when i did the shopping cart trick nothing was offered, so all i have is accounts with all of them.. Guess I am going to garden for awhile and baby my capital one card and fingerhut account!

(FYI This is Hwndori, I decided to purchase the monitoring and it created a new account for me instead!)

Re: Bk friendly creditors

Try again in a month or so. Keep your util under 10% and things will start moving up pretty quick. BTW, have you checked your CR to make sure all included accounts are IIb? (0 bal, 0 due). Hang in there. Things are going to get better.
