In fact getting the car before discharge was to my advantage because it was only new account I had for a year before I got the Orchard card. I have since traded that car in for a tier 1 luxury lease on a 2012 Acura TL. I wouldn't have been able to get this car last month without the 3 years of good payment history on the previous car prior to discharge. For me, it worked to my advantage.
