Opinion on chase physical card quality?

This may seem frivolous, but does anyone find the Chase cards issued (aside from Sapphire) to be a very low quality?  It seems flimsy, cardboard like, and almost if it were fake right off the presses at my local Staples.

On the bright side, it takes up very little space since it's so darn thin.

I was just thinking that the Freedom I recently got felt thin.

Reminds me of an unrelated note...

Anyone ever notice how badly a lot of shinny plastc cards hold up?  My Amex BCE is in TERRIBLE shape after only a few months.  I LOVE my matte plastic Discover More, I've used it a ton and it looks new.  I wish all cards came in matte plastic.

Re: Opinion on chase physical card quality?

When I first got my Freedom, it did feel somewhat thin and really bendable, but I compared the thickness of the freedom with the BCE, they're actually the same. Overall I think the freedom looks nice, especially the matte surface, I'm happy with it :smileyvery-happy:

Yeah, the clear plastic thing definitely looks much better on the website than in reality.

In my view, thought the most modern looking, it's by far AmEx's cheapest looking card.

I felt the card was also very thin, so I requested to have the "pay pass" chip put in, and the makes a huge difference. I think "pay pass" is only Mastercard, but Visa has their own too.

Amex Zync (NPSL), Chase Sapphire Preferred (5,000), Citi Dividend Platinum Select (7,000), Discover More (5,000), Amex BCP (5,000), TJ Maxx store card (800), Macy's Card (1,500).

JP Select is very nice and doesnt give the impression that it was cheaply made at all. Feels thick and with the chip in it, might be a tad thicker than normal.

Re: Opinion on chase physical card quality?

I had a Discover More with the black glow design. The Discover logo was embossed in silver foil-stamped letters that did not hold up well. Mine was wearing down and DW's was completely worn off. I got a replacement where the logo was printed instead of stamped and it held up better. Now I just got a card with the zip chip so it's not even an issue.
