AMEX can be so aggravating...
They denied me a CLI on my very puny $1K CL, (which was like $12K before they cut it for lack of use several years ago
). The reason? DH was doing the bills. The APR was not that high. He left the card close to maxed for a year. He had this "grand plan" to get out of debt by paying everyone the 3 year payoff amount. He was paying them twice the minimum, which was only $50. Unfortunately, that is not a big enough payment for AMEX. Even though the card was PIF in Jan, charged completely up and PIF again before I had asked for the increase. According to AMEX, that is the only bad thing they show, and they are looking at a full year of payments. Told me I could try again 90 days after the last request. I am now in a cycle of making payments about 3-4 times a month. A pain in the neck, but I want my 6% back on the groceries. And now it is my best for gas at 3%- will be pushing even more through the card.
Time needs to pass.... garden.... garden...
