Can you elaborate what you mean?
Oddly enough (or not), they mentioned this supposed "baddie" with my Freedom recon first. I have also previously had a Chase checking account and 2 former car loans through them. I NEVER remember having an old Chase card. Hmmm....
I sure can...
Chase is notorious for denying anyone with prior deliquents with Chase or any company Chase devoured during their acquisitions (Wamu, Providian et al). The best I've ever heard from someone who sucessfully reconned a blacklist decision was a $500 slate card (those are few and far between and the CLs never grow). The fact that you were approved for a freedom, with a decent limit with a prior Chase baddie makes you a pioneer regarding Chase's blacklisting, and reconning policies. This is news I've not heard of in my research of thousands of post read (here, and other sites) over the past couple of years. It could have been a really nice rep, or better yet Chase softening their requirements for getting back in their good graces. I hope to hear more stories like this in the future as it could give me a glimmer of hope to get in with them as opposed to using DWs Freedom ![]()
