I was hoping a few of you could chime in with your advice on this.
Here is my situation/portfolio:
Discover More - $750 limit - oldest card - opened Jan. 2010
Capital One Plat with $39 annual fee- $750 limit - opened Nov. 2010 - one CLI from $500
American Express Gold - opended Dec 2010
Citi Diamond Preferred - $4200 limit - opened March 2012
Penfed Plat Rewards - $1000 limit - opended March 2012
My AAOA is only 10 months - because of the two new cards
Sitting around 710 fako on all 3 due to recent increase in UTIL (two maxed - already paid off - waiting on reports to update)
I am considering closing the Capital One, as I would like to consider myself done with subprime cards. I also do not see Capial One giving any CLI's either from what I have read. I just want to do what is best for my file. Will closing the capital one allow any room for CLI's on the other cards in the near future?
Bottom line, should I axe Cap One?
I apprecitate all the helpful advice.
You guys have been great to me! Much appreciated!
If you want a prime card from Capital One, you would have to apply for one. I would wait until AF is due and then close your current Capital One card, you can sock draswer it until then.
