Last month I started trying to deal with CLIs on Capital One (2 Personal one Biz) and was shot down on each one of them. At that point I decided to try my luck with other creditors and ended up with about 5 new accounts and about $60,000 in new credit. I called back to Capital One and cancelled all 3 cards and sent a nastygram to the Capital One Executive Offices (via email)
Fast forward to today and I received a phone call from the Capital One Executive Offices and the lady offered me an increase on my oldest card of $500. I told her that had I known it was CapOne calling I would not have answered the phone and that $500 was still insulting compared to what Prime creditors were giving me. She asked if there was a minimum I would take if they combined all of the cards together, I told her $10,000. She said she would get back to me in a couple of days but thought that could be doable.
I'm not holding my breath but we'll see what happens. It would be nice if they could figure out what their own policies were!
