I started off with 200.00 on JCP...I think i used the card a total of 5 times. I have a limit of about 1800 now and i got that pretty soon after getting the card, like within a year at least.

thinking of applying to Walmart- is this a discover or visa? do they determine which one you qualify for? Also i was thinking of a Amazon card, I would like to apply for a GEMB card that covers more than ONE store though, any suggestions?

Well with the Walmart card...the store card and the discover card are one application. Once you submit your app, they basically determine which card you'll be eligible for. They typically try the discover first and if that's a no go, then you get approved for the store card with a chance to upgrade to discover later.

Amazon has two separate applications for their store card GECRB and Chase Amazon Visa so make sure you apply to the right one!!

I don't mean to post on a necroed topic but I can answer the original question. PayPal only let's you have Bill Me later OR a PayPal credit/debit card. You cannot own both. If someone wants a PayPal credit card and already has a BML account, the BML must be closed and then an application can be properly assessed for a PP debit/cc. You'll never have both, so don't waste a hard hit. Hope this helps.

The Old Navy and WalMart were opened on the same day a few hours apart.

Walmart (approved 8/12)..2000 limit (1400 CLI just a week ago).

Chevron/Texaco (opened 4/12) 400 limit (unsucessful CLI attempt 9/12).

Dillards (opened 8/12) 300 limit (unsucessful CLI attempt 2 days ago).

Wanna try Sams club but will wait till some of my inquires fall off next year and better score for a chance to get their Discover card.

In my opinion once you get one credit card by GE it opens the door for more cards by them with better limits. My first card with them was for only 700 and just 4 months later it was 1000 and my two cards after that one had higher limits then my first card by them. Every 4 months they give me a CLI. I love GE
