So I called and spoke to a very friendly rep who said they would have to pull a report. She said that they only pull TU for CLIs. So I decided to ask for 5K sincce I haven't reached that mark yet. After a brief hold and asking a few questions about my CR, she said that she would be happy to grant my request.

 

I am thrilled to enter the 5K CL club as it will pave the way for a CSP and my other creditors matching that CL. I thanked the woman and meant it because I am very impressed at the level of service at Discover. They really do listen and have a customer oriented business model.

Congrats! That gives me hope, my 6 months is coming up soon. Don't forget that they like to skip a month of reporting to the credit bureaus after a cli, so if your counting on the limit getting you another card soon i'd ask for a mid-cycle update on your credit reports.

i called for a cli and denied! too bad i been using this card a lot because of shopdiscover.

Did they do a HP?

dont know. ill let you know if i get an alert.

I ask because the rep told me that she could only process my request with a HP and needed my permission to continue.

i didnt get asked that.

Then they may have only checked to see if they had an offer for you. That's what they told me....that I didn't have a current offer and if i still wished to continue, a HP would be needed. 

i called and told her i want a cli. they asked me for all my info and stuff. also ever since my account turned 6 months old i been trying checking the luv button in the drop down menu and i keep getting this "we're sorry you cannot request another cli while you have one in progress" i wonder what that means.
