Chase is a huuuuuuge pain to get into the front door imho unless you've been babying your credit, unless you have a nice big balance in one of thier checking or savings accounts.
Goal: 800! Then Keep it there and keep growing!~

I called three times to get a potential recon for Chase. Each time I used the information they gave me for the decline to my advantage for the next call. The only reason I was ultimately denied was because of two new accounts in a short time period ( Amazon and Walmart ). Yet I sold myself by explaining how I pay in full each month AND my long standing credit history with Capital One. I was eventually reconsiderd because my history was good despite it not being at the age they wanted it to be. It also helped that my utilization was low and I showed no lates or baddies.
They're very hard to get your foot in the door. I imagine your chances would have been better if your utlization was low.
Wallet: Capital One Platinum - $1000, Amazon - $1400, Walmart - $1000, Discover It - $1000, Chase Freedom - $500
Current Score: TU98: 678 - 2/2012, Walmart TU - 672 2/2013, Equifax 713 - 1/2013
Goal Score: 700 for all three.

If it was the Amazon Credit card, those are backed by Chase. I don't think Chase likes two apps in a short period for thier cards, at least from what I've gathered here.

It was a store card. Both were store cards. While they are not credit cards, they were still considered accounts of some form. Eventually a rep decided to give me a chance based on my payment history and utlization.

Ah, well that was nice of that rep to reconsider then.. I for one don't have the guts to app spree more than 2 accounts at one time, if at all.
